Making Arkansas Libraries Accessible (MArLA)

Mission and Responsibilities

Making Arkansas Libraries Accessible (MArLA), an Arkansas Library Association community of interest, provides programming and resources that empower and encourage libraries to create spaces, programs, and content accessible to all users. We take a broad view of accessibility that encompasses the principles of universal design, a process encouraging the design of services, products, and spaces to enhance inclusion and usability to people with the widest range of abilities, ages, and other factors.
