Central Arkansas Library System - Adult Programmer

The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Adult Programmer to work weekday hours, with some evenings and Saturdays at the Williams Library (1800 Chester St., Little Rock, AR, 72206).

The candidate should be energetic, flexible, and team-oriented with a strong commitment to public service to create and implement programs for adults, while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Duties for this position include working the public service desk, answering patron questions, and assisting patrons on computers and devices; planning, organizing, and leading in-branch and outreach programs for adults, as well as assisting with after school crowd control.

A successful candidate would be able to establish partnerships in the community, lead educational and entertainment programs for adult and older adult audiences, collaborate with other departments and organizations to develop creative and enriching programming for our patrons, and develop positive relationships with staff and patrons. An optimistic attitude and a strong sense of teamwork are required. Experience with adult programming and familiarity with literature and popular media desirable. Spanish language skills a plus, but not required.

Pay starts at $16.47 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave and holiday pay.
