The Southeast Arkansas Regional Library (SEARL) is seeking a collaborative and dynamic individual who will bring an energetic spirit and leadership to a thriving library system as its next Library Director. This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to enjoy small town life in the heart of southeast Arkansas. SEARL is comprised of five counties and nine branch libraries and serves over 64,000. Regional Headquarters is located in Monticello, Arkansas and is adjacent to its largest branch library. The city of Monticello is the one of the largest towns in Southeast Arkansas, it is the marketplace hub for the county and all the surrounding counties. Monticello is an active place for people seeking progress, but in the relaxed comfort & charm of a small town located in the heart of Southeastern Arkansas.
This position allows for the exercise of creative and compassionate leadership as the library strives to extend its reach and impact in its rural communities. The Library Director oversees over a $1.0 million budget and supervises 10 full-time employees.
Salary ranges from $50,000-$56,000 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, APERS retirement, paid time off, and holiday pay.
Qualifications: A master of library and information science degree from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Three or more years of professional library experience, strong supervisory skills, and excellent communication abilities are preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong management experience, a solid public service orientation, and be able to foster innovation and move the library forward to stay relevant and valued by the community
