Join us for a Lunch & Learn presented by Ruth Slagle, Instruction Librarian from Jackson State Community College in Tennessee.

Gen Z students expect college instruction to be different from lectures, PowerPoints, and taking notes. Some students want a gamification setting while others want the “traditional” lecture style. A multitude of students are uncomfortable using technology at various levels. How do librarians balance these needs and teach students to think critically, develop their own research skills, and apply these sources into a paper or project?

Join Ruth and learn how she is using the game Taboo within the classroom to encourage students to build their own arsenal of keywords for research. Learn how she used the concept of mysteries and cold cases to develop an interactive instruction session for English students.

Registration is free but required to get meeting access. Questions should be directed to Jessica Kirk at j.kirk_arla@pm.me.
