College & University Librarians of Arkansas: Academic Library Media Labs Online Discussion

  • 21 Jul 2021
  • 2:00 PM

The College & University Librarians of Arkansas (CULAR) will host an online discussion on the topic of Academic Library Media Labs on Wednesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. All ARLA members are welcome to attend. Academic librarians may find the topic especially relevant.

The lead presenter will be Dr. Lowell Lybarger, Multimedia Librarian at Arkansas Tech University's Ross Pendergraft Library. After a brief presentation, attendees will be welcome to engage in discussion.

More on the topic: academic libraries are moving beyond their traditional role as storehouses of existing knowledge and increasingly becoming places for the creation of new media and intellectual content. Audio and Video Production Labs, like the AudioLab at Arkansas Tech University, provide all students with access to state-of-the-art media technology for the creation of music recordings, radio theatre, and ongoing podcasts. Media librarians provide training and technical support to students who are seeking to complete class projects, or to gain skills for their own creative endeavors.

To attend the discussion, join us by following the Webex meeting instructions listed below.  See you on Wednesday, July 21 at 2 p.m.
