Head of Adult Programming for Faulkner County Libraries
Reports To
The Adult Services Librarian will report to the Library Director.
Job Overview
This is a full-time, exempt professional position responsible for professional and supervisory work in planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive slate of library programming for all ages with an emphasis in Adult Services in accordance with the Library's mission and vision. This position participates in the the public service functions of the library.
Level of Authority
Performs duties with only general direction and defined latitude for independent action and decisions commensurate with demonstrated ability.
Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, coordinate, promote, implement, and participate in programming for all ages with an emphasis on Adult Programming, including community outreach. Delegate appropriately to other staff.
Schedule meeting rooms for public groups.
Maintain records and statistics related to the Library’s adult programming.
Work public desks as needed.
Market and promote programs by writing and designing publicity materials including event flyers, social media posts, electronic newsletters, and signage.
Act as Person-In-Charge in absence of other managers.
Perform outreach programs where appropriate.
Prepare and monitor budget for areas of responsibility, generating budget reports and analyses as required.
- § Train the public in the use of library resources and equipment, including online catalog and databases.
Provide reference service as time permits.
Qualifications
Selected applicant must have or obtain, and maintain a valid Arkansas driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Selected applicant must have reliable access to transportation. Professional experience in related fields preferred but not required.
Starting salary
$27,040.
