Deputy Regional Librarian for Marketing and Outreach: East Central Arkansas Regional Library, Wynne, AR

The East Central Arkansas Regional Library is seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy in the position of Deputy Regional Librarian for Marketing and Outreach. This is a 30-hour-per-week position with benefits. This position will be headquartered in Wynne but will be responsible for travel through and work in both Cross and Woodruff Counties. A part of the Administrative Team, this position oversees all marketing, web and social media initiatives of the library, maintains extremely close relationships with the four school districts and community colleges serving the region, and assists the Regional Librarian with fiscal management of the library. The position also supervises staff, develops and implements programs and services, and other tasks.  A bachelor’s degree is required, with an ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree strongly preferred. Progressive, energetic, forward-thinking librarians are encouraged to apply. We will consider new/recent MLS/MLIS graduates with a bright personality who have some supervisory, marketing, and/or public service experience. A sense of humor is a must.

Wynne and Cross County are located in the heart of the Arkansas Delta region. Wynne offers the best of small-town living in a heavily agricultural area, with good public schools, a low cost of living, and ample outdoor opportunities. Jonesboro, a vibrant, growing city with dining, shopping and Arkansas State University is only 45 minutes away, as is the city of Memphis, Tennessee, known for Elvis, the Grizzlies, Barbecue, Beale Street, Blues, and Rock and Roll.

The starting salary for this position is $40,000. There is the possibility the position will be extended to 40 hours in the coming months.
