Position: Library Technician. Part-time. 8 hours per week, additional hours dependent on funding, weekdays only.
Description: The Library Technician will receive and process library materials. Other duties include filing loose-leaf updates and pocket parts, receiving and processing mail, making claims for library materials not received, greeting patrons, following up on overdue materials, and collecting news articles about federal judges in Arkansas. The Library Technician will assist the Librarian with special projects as needed. Special projects may include archival work, wellness programs, legal research trainings, and civics education programs.
High school diploma and one year of library experience.
Basic computer skills: Office 365 Suite and the ability to learn new software.
Strong skills in problem solving and collaboration.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must be able to reach, stoop, and lift boxes up to 40 pounds.
MLIS/MLS or college degree in a relevant field.
Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, history, adult education, psychology, and political science.
Customer service experience strongly preferred.
Law library experience.
Library software experience, especially Sirsi.
Background check required for successful candidate.
Earliest Start Date: June 28, 2021. Position open until filled.
Salary: Minimum starting salary approximately $18.60 - $20.34/hour.
