The 2017 Collaboration unConference will take place on Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Central Arkansas Library System in downtown Little Rock. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the unConference, here’s a brief description:
The unConference, sponsored by the Digital Services Round Table* of the Arkansas Library Association, is an opportunity for library staff from across Arkansas to get together in an informal setting to discuss issues related to libraries. On the day of the unConference, we’ll start with a series of Lightning Talks where a few people will present a short (10-15 minutes) talk on a topic of interest to them. After that we will decide as a group what topics we want to discuss in breakout sessions, based on ideas submitted via the registration form, or the topics presented during the Lightning Talk session. There will be two to three breakout sessions for informal discussion of the chosen topics, then at the end of the day we will all get back together to share what we’ve learned or for further discussion. There is no charge for the unConference. Many of the suggested topics revolve around technology issues, but anything to do with libraries is fair game. The unConference provides an opportunity to learn from each other, discuss projects, and build relationships.
