Mission and Responsibilities

The Government Documents Round Table or GODORT, as we are more affectionately known, was created to assist all librarians in the access and use of government publications in all formats. The round table offers programs at nearly every annual conference to assist its members in the use of new and valuable government resources. At the same time, GODORT aims to assist those who are unfamiliar with government information. It is our purpose to help them see its value and its ability to assist with their jobs. In addition to offering database training sessions for other divisions and round tables in the Association, GODORT also has a regular column, What’s Up? – Docs, in Arkansas Libraries to offer more tips on how to use government materials for everyday patron assistance.
